Add Targets Using Search
1.
Select the Search tab. |
2.
Select a Search Option: |
•
All—Search for targets using all available criteria. |
•
Gene—Search using the HUGO name for the gene of interest. When adding a gene, the assays for splice variants or isoforms, splice junctions, and cSNPs are available. |
•
Transcript—Search using the RefSeq ID for the transcript of interest. If the RefSeq ID for your transcript of interest is unavailable, add the higher-level gene name and select an assay specific to the transcript using the Visualize column in the table below the Add Targets panel. When adding a transcript, all available assays that target the transcript are displayed, including cSNPs and assays that amplify other gene-isoforms. |
•
Variant—Search using the rsID from dbSNP for a specific cSNP annotation. Human dbSNP 135 is used for the designs and the following criteria are considered for cSNP assays: |
•
cSNP is common (cSNPs with >=1% MAF have been included) |
•
No other cSNP in the probe design area |
•
cSNP should cover all transcripts to a gene |
•
Assay ID—Search using a unique identifier for the assay. |
•
GeneFusion—An assay designed to detect structural rearrangements of the GeneFusion form. Select Download Gene Fusion Assay List to download a list of possible targets. |
3.
[Optional] Select Select Best Assay to have DesignStudio automatically choose the best assay available for the target. |
If this option is not selected, assays must be added manually through the Add Assays tab. See Manage and Export Targets.
4.
[Optional] Enter a label in the Labels field. |
Add multiple labels by separating them with a comma. You can use labels to filter and select targets.
The target is added to the table below the Add Targets panel.
