Next-generation sequencing (NGS) has been the backbone of agrigenomics research for more than a decade, while high-throughput microarray platforms have enabled genotyping at a cost and scale required to apply this information to breeding programs. Illumina continues to update and improve both technology platforms through R&D investments, manufacturing and supply improvements, and deployment of new products and features that reduce costs and increase ease of use.
