Dr. Bosiljka Tasic, a researcher at the independent non-profit Allen Institute for Brain Science is working to accelerate the understanding of how the human brain works. Her team is using mice to study how information is coded and processed within the wide variety of cells in the mouse brain. Their plan is to define the basic information-processing framework of the mouse visual system and then compare it with primates and humans to understand what is uniquely human.
To accomplish this, the Institute is using Illumina’s Nextera XT Library Prep Kit and MiSeq system to generate data which will then be housed on its website as a resource to the scientific community.
